Equilibrium (2002)

I don’t know how I missed this one in the theaters. It is a gun-slinging action packed master piece that examines the essence of what it means to be human. I was in the video rental store looking for something set in the future, the far further. I wanted something with space ships and space battles. The problem is that I’ve seen every film with space fights that they had. Sad but very true, I watch too many movies when I should be reading or working my own writing.

Equilibrium is the future gone wrong. Because humanity suffered through a full on 3rd world war, leaders got together to try and destroy in humanity that which leads to war, the disease of emotion.

There is a really good Wikipedia entry that goes into great detail, check it out here: Equilibrium. However, I recommend seeing this one for your self.

  1. The reason why you didn’t catch this one in theaters is because it had next to zero promotion after some bad critques and apparently was only in theaters for about a week.

When the production company saw how it did with dvd sales and such they filmed “Ultraviolet” over a weekend after getting Milla Jojovich to agree to the part. Who apparently is incapable of signing on to a quality film since she did “Fifth Element”. Its all about movies based on videogames for her these days. She needs to stop acting in horrible films.

Equilibrium is good popcorn action flick awesome for its climax where Batman fights Robert the Bruce in a Gun-Fu fight.

    That’s right, AWESOME.
