Showdown at Area 51 is an original SCI FI Saturday Movie that I picked up at a whim at the video store to watch this morning.

For what it was, a shoot-um-up alien-apocalypse, it wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t good enough to keep me awake though the entire film. I dosed off and missed the last 10 minutes or so, the part where I’m sure the HOT chick with brains and the guy who loves her save the world, make up, and all that.

The fun part was the two alien races using strangely high-tech but crude weapons to wreak havoc on small town America.

So, I have to say watcher beware. While it was fun it was also very low budget, or I should say that it had just enough budget for a few really good scenes interspersed with bland melodrama.
