Hackers (1995)

Speaking of Angelina Jolie (see my last post), one of my all time favorite movies with the still smoking hot actress is Hackers, where she plays the bad girl Kate Libby aka Acid Burn.

I don’t have mad programming skills like these characters that take on the computer establishment and the mad genius Eugene Belford aka The Plague aka Mr. Babbage played by Fisher Stevens

The movie is much by today’s standards. It is one of those films that I look back on and wonder why I liked it so much. Well, the reason is right there in front of my face. I like strong women that kick ass (must be why I married 9 to 5 Poet).

Acid Burn is independent and doesn’t need anyone. She can take on the world. She is connected to the underworld of computer espionage. However, is reluctantly falls in love with the hero, so late 90’s.

Still, I had just graduated from high school and was on my way to college. I was on the look out for my own Acid Burn. Strangely enough, I found her.
