The story of King Arthur is supposed to take place between the 4th and 5th century, but the I get that the villains of the movie, the Saxons spoke English, but I find it difficult to believe that they chanted “Saxon! Saxon! Saxon!” as they marched through the countryside.
The people of the northlands are represented in the movie as well the Picts are called “Woads” here, and they are presented as barbarians turned allies to the protagonists, but they did not ever, ever have trebuchets. The trebuchet was a specialized catapault used in laying seige to castles in the 12th century and later. The “Woads” lived in huts and the like, they didn’t own castles, they didn’t know anyone who owned castles… so, why would the Picts have trebuchets?? The crossbow also makes an appearance in this movie, too bad it wasn’t invented until the 10th century.
The Knights of the Round Table are represented as former Roman Legionarries from all over Empire who have been assigned to Britian to cover the Roman withdrawal, one of the “Knights” seems to be a Mongolian Warrior turned Legionarrie… in Britian. Sorry, just can’t swallow that.
So, as a plot point Rome had offered land north of Hadrian’s Wall (in present day Scotland) where Rome had no power to offer lands or make laws. On this land lived an important Roman family… Seriously? What the hell were they doing there?
Throughout the movie the “Woads” appear to have the ability to disappear like Batman or a Ninja, I have to say this outload and clearly: The Picts were NOT ninjas, nor did they EVER exhibit ninja-like abilities.Like I said, I love historical epics, but this is neither historical nor is it epic. Other than the glaring ignorance of historical evidence it was a horrendous piece of crap film with some cool battle sequences that are very cool to someone with no knowledge of historical warfare. Avoid this movie.

Oh the hilarity! Maybe in the sequel (King Arthur 2: Electirc Boogaloo) there can be a Japanese Pict…who carries a bazooka…’cuz that would be cool.
Great review!
